I have volunteered/been chosen to participate in an observation/evaluation pilot program at Kingswood Oxford School. It has taken months for our committee and the faculty to agree to effective ways of helping our teachers grow and help them help themselves through the continuous professional development process.
On my team is French teacher, Lisa Loeb, Science teacher, Lisa Bailey, and music teacher, Thomas Kiedel. Over the course of a semester, they will visit my classes, meet with me to discuss a project and reflect with eachother about helping me to improve as a teacher. Their roles as a support team throughout my "project year" include being there with me through the process of creating my project and improving specific strategies used in my Spanish classroom.
I will be observed 5 times over the course of 3 months and I am looking forward to involving my colleagues with what I do everyday so one day in the future I can be an important memeber of someone else's team.
